Field Hockey

Hockey is a team sport played with a hockey stick and a ball. It is mainly divided into two types: field hockey and ice hockey. In most countries, field hockey is referred to as field hockey.

Hockey originated mainly in Africa and the Middle East, and was recorded in ancient Egyptian documents thousands of years before Christ. There is historical evidence that hockey was widely popular in ancient Roman and ancient Greek communities, and its competitions have been found in America. It is one of the oldest sports in the world. It was not until the mid-eighteenth century that modern hockey flourished in the UK, and local schools began to participate in this sport. In 1876, the world's first hockey federation was established in the UK, and then the first set of official competition rules was established.

In 1908, the first Olympic hockey competition was held in London, England, with only six regional men's teams participating. In 1924, the International Hockey Federation was established to regulate and organize competitions more effectively. In 1928, hockey became a permanent Olympic event. In 1980, the Moscow Olympics in Russia included women's hockey as a competition for the first time. Today, there are about 130 countries and regions in the world with hockey organizations and teams, and the number continues to grow.

The game is played on a hockey field, with two teams of 11 players each, serving as goalkeeper, forward, midfielder, defender, etc. The current rules of hockey stipulate that the game time is 60 minutes, divided into 4 quarters, each lasting 15 minutes. There is a 2-minute break after the first and third quarters, and a 15-minute break in the middle of the game. During the game, each player holds a hockey stick and hits the ball with the flat surface. The one who shoots the most balls into the opponent's goal wins. The three major offensive elements include dribbling, ball control and passing, and the two major defensive elements include forehand defense and poke defense. Common techniques include swinging the ball, dribbling, receiving the ball, shoveling the ball, pushing the ball, pushing the ball, and goalkeeper kicking the ball.
